30+ years of progressive partnerships
Most companies go into business to make money. Over thirty years ago, we went into business to make change. We’ve succeeded better than we ever imagined. Since 1985, CREDO has donated over $95 million for progressive groups working hard for social change.
Some progressive groups we fund are working on issues where immediate action will make a real difference. Others tackle the long-term work that makes our movement strong. Many times, these organizations have a proven track record of progressive victories or have close partnerships with CREDO, which gives us – and our members – confidence that the donation dollars these groups receive are supporting meaningful projects that really make a difference.
We fund our grantees within these categories
From fighting for a $15-per-hour minimum wage to stopping job-killing trade deals, CREDO makes the fight for economic justice a priority. We’re working to expand the social safety net and reform Wall Street, including breaking up the big banks and stopping the revolving door between Wall Street and Washington.
We’ve distributed more than $14 million to economic justice groups like the Economic Policy Institute, Americans for Tax Fairness and Social Security Works.
The right to vote needs to be carefully guarded, now more than ever. Conservatives have been fighting to suppress the votes of communities of color for decades. CREDO is working to protect and expand the right to vote and defend voters against discriminatory and racist voter-suppression laws.
We’ve distributed more than $9 million to voting rights groups like She the People, the Voter Participation Center and the Brennan Center for Justice.
Climate change is a threat to our very existence. We envision a world where everyone has access to clean air and water and renewable energy is abundant. We continue to fight for the environment and climate justice, from stopping fossil fuel infrastructure and holding corporations accountable for destructive acts to ensuring a fair and just transition for everyone in a world without fossil fuels.
We’ve distributed more than $19 million to climate justice groups like 350.org, Rainforest Action Network, Earthjustice and Friends of the Earth.
The fight for civil rights is not over. Racism and bigotry still plague our country. From supporting activists on the ground to working with innovative, progressive groups, CREDO is fighting for the rights of those who are discriminated against based on their race, religion, immigration status, sexual orientation or gender.
We’ve distributed more than $14 million to civil rights groups like the ACLU, Transgender Law Center, Cosecha and the National Domestic Workers Alliance.
Women’s freedom and equality is under constant attack. At CREDO, we fight for women’s rights, reproductive freedom, equal pay in the workplace and the empowerment of women. We’re proud to be one of Planned Parenthood’s largest corporate donors and will continue to fund their work and the work of other leading women’s rights organizations.
In addition to Planned Parenthood, we’ve distributed more than $10 million to women’s rights groups like NARAL Pro-Choice America, UltraViolet and Women’s March.
Advocacy for peace requires relentlessly promoting diplomacy and standing against unnecessary wars. CREDO has been a longtime supporter of groups that work with refugees in the worst war zones on Earth, and we will continue fighting to stop wars of aggression and working to promote peace.
We’ve distributed more than $10 million to groups fighting for peace including Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Win Without War.
These donations are generated primarily from our company revenue and are one of our most powerful tools for change.
